Clairac is a beautiful historic village. It is situated on the banks of the Lot River, where just a few steps from the abbey, there is a lovely beach with a terrace and dining options. From the abbey, you can also easily explore the idyllic village. Through the authentic streets lined with beautiful houses, you'll reach the small center where you'll find some shops: a bakery, a pharmacy, a hairdresser. And of course, it's delightful to sit on a terrace or enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the cozy restaurants. Furthermore, within walking distance, there is a nice supermarket with a petrol station.

The landscapes are beautiful, there is a lot of diversity in agriculture, and there are wonderful views, with a pleasant climate and warm summers. On the square, there are stalls with various types of food: bread, wine, all kinds of fruits and vegetables, but also with snails, mussels, or foie gras, the butcher with his huge barbecue, and of course the fries stand. Long tables are set up under the old plane trees, creating a cozy gathering place.

If you enjoy hiking or cycling, you're in luck with over 400 routes to choose from. There are routes suitable for leisurely enjoyment as well as for avid cyclists, passing through vineyards, fruit orchards, sunflower fields, forests, and rivers. Furthermore, nearby there are opportunities for pedal boating and water skiing. The Lot River is a great spot for fishing, and it's even better that at the abbey, you have a lovely platform in the shade right by the river.
